Slow Down in Mudgee
your country escape
Need a proper break from city noise and a chance to breathe again?
Ever pictured somewhere with cleaner air, a charming main street and genuinely friendly locals? That's Mudgee, and then some. Come and see for yourself!
“This town has had the full 'luxe rural' makeover – even my 86-year-old mother was won over”
SMH – Sunday Life. Fiona Carruthers
At our well-regarded Mudgee boutique country stay, we set out to build a genuinely calm retreat – somewhere to leave the daily pressure behind and settle into the rhythm of a lively country town.
Every room and cottage we offer is chosen to reflect the character of the countryside around it. Whether it's a plush suite or a cosy cottage, our goal stays the same: a stay you'll actually remember. We're confident you'll leave feeling recharged and inspired.

It's a good time to reconnect – with the people you love, with open space, and with fresh country air. Take in the region's food, wine and history, and give yourself room to properly unwind in Mudgee.!
So Much to Take In
Tastes Of Mudgee
Held each spring, the Mudgee region's biggest food and wine festival brings the whole town out
More than 60 local food and wine producers set up along Mudgee's main streets, with live performers keeping the crowd entertained. Entry is free, and tasting packages with a souvenir glass are available if you'd like to sample the local wine properly.
Wine Country
Mudgee is home to some of Australia's finest wineries, run by small producers who take real pride in showing visitors around. Join a group tour or book a private tasting – either way, the flavours here are something else.
food & wine
What sets Mudgee apart is proximity – you're eating and drinking close to the source. A number of local farms, Blue Wren Farm among them, double as restaurants, so the produce is fresh and the kitchens are run by people who care. And there's nothing quite like tasting a wine at the vineyard where it was actually made.
The Outdoors
The countryside around Mudgee is worth exploring on its own terms – farm life, sun-drenched vineyards, or a walk through Goulburn River or Wollemi National Park. There's something here for most tastes.
local life
City life moves fast and rarely stops. Mudgee runs at a different pace – locals know how to enjoy the good things, whether that's a long lunch, a fine glass of wine, or an afternoon browsing the boutique shops.
heritage
Mudgee's history runs deep, and locals are proud of it. Born from gold prospecting and farming, the town has kept its own identity, visible in its museums and the heritage buildings that have been so well looked after.
events
Don't mistake the quiet streets for a lack of things going on – Mudgee keeps a busy events calendar, from art shows and wine tours to live music from regional talent and themed nights out at local venues.
Willowvale B&B is one of Mudgee's favourite boutique stays, set inside the historic 1862 Mechanics Institute – a striking piece of Victorian architecture brought back to life for guests today.
Set right in the centre of town, Willowvale B&B makes a natural base for taking in everything else Mudgee has on offer, with some of the region's best dining and attractions only a short stroll away.
Take time out and properly unwind at Willowvale Grove Farm, our luxury farm stay in the Mudgee region.
Spend your days as you please – morning walks, local markets, award-winning wine and good food, all close by.
Situated in the heart of Mudgee’s best wineries, Willowvale Grove Cottages are located on private farmland. This guarantees you’ll find the private sanctuary you’ve been yearning for, and the sense of rejuvenation you need.
We're already planning a return visit later this year. Well done, Willowvale B&B.
